Step 1. Enable URL Rewrite in Magento 2

First of all, log in to your admin panel and navigate to Stores > Settings > Configuration.
After that, expand the General tab and click on the Web button from the left-side panel.
Next, expand the Search Engine Optimization section and do the following:
- Select YES in the Use Web Server Rewrites field.
- Click on the Save Config button.

Step 2. Enable Automatic URL Redirects

First of all, navigate to Stores > Configuration.
After that, expand the Catalog tab from the left-side panel and click on the Catalog button.
Next, expand the Search Engine Optimization section and do the following:
- Select YES in the Create Permanent Redirect for URLs if URL Key Changed field.
- Click on the Save Config button.

Step 3. Enable Magento 2 Product URLs Rewrite

Navigate to Catalog > Products.
Select the products for which you’d like to change the URLs.
Expand the Search Engine Optimization section and do the following:
- Update the URL as per your choice in the URL Key field. Remember, you can only use lowercase letters & characters.
- Click on the Save button.
