Here is the step-by-step process you can follow to set up automated payment failed email in your Magento 2 store.

Step #1

Open the admin panel and navigate to Stores > Settings > Configurations.

Step #2

Find the “Sales” tab on the left side panel and click on the “Checkout” tab.

Now, open “Payment Failed Emails” section and do the following:

First of all, select the store contact‘s email as the receiver of the message in the “Payment Failed Email Receiver” field.
After that, select the store contact’s email as the sender of the message in the “Payment Failed Email Sender” field.
Then, select your desired email template to be sent to your registered customers in the “Payment Failed Template” field.
Now, if you want to send the payment failed emails to multiple recipients at the same time, then enter their email addresses in the “Send Payment Failed Email Copy To” field separated by a comma.
Lastly, you need to select the email sending method from one of the following two options:
- BCC: It will send a “blind courtesy copy” to all recipients in the same email.
- Separate Email: It will send separate emails to all recipients.
Finally, it’s time to “Save Config” and finish the automated payment failed email configuration process.
