Step 3. Then, click on the “Flat Rate” section and do the following:
- First, “Enable” the Free Shipping option by selecting “Yes”.

- Then, write a description for the Free Shipping option in the “Method Name” field.
- After that, you need to clarify the terms for applying the flat rate shipping method. For this, set the “Type” from one of the following options:
- None: This type means the shipping rate is zero, which is similar to free shipping method.
- Per Order: It charges a flat shipping rate for the entire order.
- Per Item: It charges a flat shipping rate for each item. The final shipping cost is multiplied by the number of items in the cart.
Step 4. Now, you need to set a “Price” you want to charge for flat rate shipping.
Step 5. If you want to add some additional handling charges, you can do so by setting the “Calculate Handling Fee” to a “percent” or a “fixed” charge in the “Handling Fee” field.
Step 6. After that, write a short text to show if the flat rate shipping is not available in the “Displayed Error Message” field.
Step 7. Next, Assign the “Ship to Applicable Countries” from one of the following options:
- All Countries: Free Shipping to every country in the world.
- Specific Countries: Free Shipping to selected countries.
Step 8. Lastly, Set the “Sort Order” field on the shipping method for the checkout page.
Step 9. Now, click on the “Save Config” to finish the process.
